We start with a visit to the medieval town of Silves and to its impressive 8th Century Castle and 13th century cathedral. Walking on original cobble streets we will then descend to visit the curious local farmers market
From Silves, we will then head to the mountains of Monchique, though farming fields, where we can see, amongst many others, orange trees, eucalyptus and cork trees. In Monchique we will visit a local distillery, where we can learn about the processes for making – Medronho (Local moonshine) and the artisanal extraction of honey. You will be invited to taste both of these local specialities.
We will finish our tour at the highest point of the Algarve where you can enjoy, on a clear day, the most fantastic views of the region.
